Nonfiction Reading
In class we have been reading a book called Close Encounter by Ramai Stewart. Here is a small paragraph out of the book and it is about an island called Campbell Island.
In the winter of 1983, naturalist Ramai Stewart made her first trip to Campbell Island. There she watched a group of whales gather in the welcoming waters of North West Bay. It was an awesome sight. The huge Animals cruised slowly around the bay, releasing great bursts of steamy breath as they went. Watching those whales changed Ramai life. In this article, she explains, why she’s been drawn back many times to that lonely but magical place.
